Perhaps overly simplistic…yet, perhaps it’s in the simple things we can find joy. We lost a wonderful lady 2 days ago. My mother-in-law for 22 years. She was caring, compassionate, self sacrificing, and hilarious. So much so that those characteristics most likely contributed to her (relatively) early departure in that, while taking care others, she forgot to take care of herself. It’s most likely coincidental that life changing events often occur (for us) around holidays and while it may seem strange that we can still celebrate Thanksgiving the day after losing a loved one, it’s a practice and a truth that get us through with joy. Knowing that joy and happiness are not synonymous. David reminds us, in Psalms 103, of those things in which we CAN find joy and thanksgiving. This world is a broken place and there are a lifetime of consequence that come from the actions of others, the actions of ourselves, and what we’ve seen, and those consequences are free from constraint by time or predictability. The one thing that is for certain…God is control. We CAN be thankful for the character of God. That doesn’t mean that we have to live in uncertainly on our own and lean upon our own understanding to find peace and thankfulness. It doesn’t mean that these things will come without hills and valleys, or come easily. Just as David found peace and thankfulness, he took the time to record for the purpose of sharing and reminding. At times, we must lean upon each other for strength, encouragement, and something tangible to be thankful for. Please be encouraged today. Take a moment to write down and reflect on the things that we can be thankful for as a means to reflect. If nothing else, reach out to those for whom your grateful or reach out to someone who is down to let them know that you are grateful for them. These seasons are tough. You do t have to walk through them alone.

It may seem like a simple idea but I've found it works for many, especially those who are having difficulties or who recently suffered a loss.

Most Things Boil Down To Our Attitudes In Life.
It's Not So Much The Problems We Face, As We All Have Various Issues
But How We Approach And Handle Our Situations ~ Most Events Will Always Have
Something Good About Them; Sometime We Just Need To Look At Them From A Different Angle And a Better Attitude;
I Lost My Brother Mike, A Couple Months Ago ~ Then Yesterday I Received A Call From The Republic Of Panama ~ My Sister-In-Law, Itzel, Passed Away 2 Days Ago At The Age Of 71 ~ Cancer. .... I Like To Think They're Now Gathered Together With The Other Family Members, Having A Few Cups Of Coffee And A Lot Of Laughter ~ Just As We Always Use To.....Having A Good Positive Attitude Can And Will Improve Our Lives,

Thanks Tiffany... But I Seem To Have Different Views On What Happens & Where We Go Upon Our Death. And It "Ain't" Heaven Nor Hell, Our Spirit Just Keeps Going On And On ~ Just On A Different Realm ~ New Science & Theories Estimate There Are Between 8 & 12 Various Levels We Live In Are Right Here On Earth. But If You Ever Get The Feeling ""Although You're Totally Alone, But You're Not", You're Probably Right. ~ You Just May Have Company Or Someone Looking Over You.... I Know It's A Far-Out Thought, But It May Be Further Out Than We'll Ever Know, Until We Get There. ~ I Have A Close Friend Whom Flat-Lined 4 Times Then Died Recently, Just A Few Months Ago ~ Then He Telephoned Me And Told Me Of His Experience & How It Was Verified Which Convinced Him Of His Having Died. Granted, I Am One Crazy SOB, ~ But What I've Just Mentioned Is Absolutely True.
