CSM Chuck Stafford - I lost mine years ago, somewhere in my tool shed. But I did get a leatherman, and one day riding my bike it came out of it's case, lost forever.
Always admired the Randel #1 knife.

I Was Deer Hunting With A Friend Years Ago And He Asked Me Why I Had 550 Cord Wrapped Around The Handle Of My Knife, I Told Him For Non Slip When My Hands Get Bloody And Other Uses If Needed, After I Shot And Gutted My Buck, I Took The Cord Off The Knife And Tied The Bucks Legs Together, Took Out My Leatherman And Used The Saw Blade To Cut A Branch Of Of A Tree And We Then Carried The Deer Over A Mile Back To The Truck.
He Learned Two Valuable Lessons When Hunting Wrap 550 Cord Around The Handle Of A Fixed Blade Knife And Carry A Leatherman.
He Never Served And Didn’t Know The Many Uses Of 550 Cord And Leatherman Tools.

If my grandfather had ever known the 550 cord when he was alive, it'll be something he would cherish very much.
There were days with him, watching him weave rope with tree bark, that held his cows.
