As a former cyberspace warfare officer and a huge advocate for cyber, I’m not so sure we’re ready for a separate service. I could argue for it or against it, but ultimately we’re not ready as we’re are still trying to mature the expertise of the people who would lead it.

I just had the same thoughts while reading the article. I have strong arguments for it and strong arguments against it. However, assuming it would be stood up much in the same fashion as the Space Force, the leadership is there already.

My son spent some time working in Cyber Command which was first under AF and then Army. I don't believe he would support a separate service

Lt Col Charlie Brown - when you say "under", I assume you are referring to the service the Commander is from as it is a joint organization (one of the functional combatant commands) and doesn't belong to any service.

My issue with a separate service is duplication of administration and training if other branches have any cyber. It took us decades for medical to go purple and now the majority of medical training happens at FT Sam Houston. We need to be more purple than anything and like areas fall under same administrative personnel. COL Randall C. Lt Col Charlie Brown
