APOD: 2024 October 8 – Annular Eclipse over Patagonia

Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the October 8th edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD). The 'path of totality' for last week's annular solar eclipse ran through Patagonia (Chilé), and some of the better photos from that event are starting to show up on line. Today's APOD is one of them. Given the clouds, I'm thinking the image is unfiltered...but I couldn't find any photographers notes to confirm that. Looks like a beautiful place to go hiking. Cheers.

Every day is different, every day is glorious in the magnificence of our solar system among the small area of it we are a part of!!! It is especially true when we see the likes of ANNULAR ECLIPSE... AND LIKE THIS ONE OVER Patagonia, Chile!!! Excellent share today, Maj William W. 'Bill' Price!!!
