Reading this all I could think of was the Ron White line of "flying at the speed of smell". 24 miles in 38 minutes. Just a leisurely jaunt through the air.
What I find amazing about the Wright's and their first plane is extremely experienced fighter pilots couldn't had great difficulty in controlling the flight controls. To the point of being unable to fly the plane. The Wrights were much more skilled than many gave them credit for.
