These Cadillac vehicles were junk. Gm did not want to put the money to make the engine reliable. Also the gasoline powered ones that went from eight cylinders, to 6 and then to four cylinders were also trouble-prone. Even recent hemi dodge V8 engines with a similar 8-6-4 system have problems with the lifters wearing out, damaging the camshaft and cracking the heads.

I have a 2015 V6 Dodge challenger and a 2018 Christer Pacifica minivan. They are not trouble- prone. They are not diesel either.

Both vehicles get 30 miles per gallon on the highway.
