I just can't wrap my head around how quickly my beloved USA has become so vial. Baby Boomers, it's on us. The greatest Generation handed off an incredible Country that we (the boomers) must've thought was on some sort of "autopilot", but it wasn't. Our generation became distracted by everything fun and exciting that money could buy, while our obligation to pay attention to what our government was doing, was ignored. We simply can't allow those who we elect to offices of power to lie, cheat and steal what our forefathers fought and died to create for America. The 2024 election may be our last chance to correct the mess we allowed to take over our Rights and Freedoms. PAY ATTENTION.

This is what happens when we give the 'experts' control over our government and our lives. The so called experts and their enablers in the media and government took advantage of people's good naturedness and this is what happened.

You mean this bill?
"But here’s the thing: Illegal immigrants can already be deported for committing crimes, starting with the crime of being here illegally. In fact, more than 200,000 of them were shown the door for that very reason in 2023 alone. And with regard to the kinds of violent offenses Mace is talking about, even legal immigrants can be deported for committing those kinds of crimes.
In short, the bill is unnecessary. And what’s worse, experts say its text is so vague and poorly drafted that it’s likely to get survivors– yes, survivors – of sexual violence tossed out of the country. In fact, that’s why the National Task Force to End Sexual and Domestic Violence opposes the bill .
It’s also why critics correctly argue that Mace’s legislation isn’t really legislation at all. Rather, it’s what practitioners of the dark art of politics call a “messaging bill” – that is, a bill whose only purpose is to communicate a clear message to voters.
And in this case, we’re sad to say, Mace’s message to her constituents couldn’t be clearer: “I think you’re dumb. And I think you’ll fall for this pandering idea that really isn’t worth the paper it is printed on so I can look tough.”"

This should likely be moved to political opinions.

Maj John Bell - If Biden isn't enforcing the current law, I fail to see what you think a new law would do that is similar to the existing law. If the problem is as you say, "The bill would be unnecessary if the Biden administration would enforce the law and if blue cities didn't follow their misguided sanctuary city nonsense." there is nothing a new law is going to do to change that. You want to change the policy, you vote in a new POTUS, which is what I assume you did. But changing the law would do nothing to fix the problem you mentioned.

SPC Kevin Ford - The bill is not in and of itself a new law. It is an amendment to Section 212(a)(2) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. I wonder if you have actually read the bill. Who are your experts that say it is poorly written There are 28 lines to the body of the bill, 28. The claim that it will get victims thrown out is BS.
It adds two paragraphs that broaden the definition of inadmissible alien (permanently barred from re-entry) to include:
1) Any alien who has been convicted of, who admits having committed, or who admits committing acts which constitute the essential elements of a sex offense (as such term is defined in section 111(5) of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 (34 U.S.C. 20911(5))), or a conspiracy to commit such an offense
2) Any alien who has been convicted of domestic violence, stalking, child abuse
or violation of a personal protection order.
Please explain how that gets victims deported. The "experts" depend on people not checking their nonsense.
Changing the law, allows border enforcement to fast-track deportation of aliens illegal or legal who pose a public safety issue. It accomplished something. It showed that the Democrats largely don't care about the safety of sexual assault victims. It forced them to go on record and it highlights the weak will of President Biden in the hopes that in his last days in office he'll do his job.

Maj John Bell - Your complaint was that Biden wasn't doing anything to enforce the current law. Changing the law wouldn't fix that.
Now here is an interesting question to ask yourself. Can a victim violate their own personal protection order and by the wording of this bill be deported as a result? The answer is, yes they can.
https://www.cgaa.org/article/can-a-person-violate-their-own-protective-order
Yes, some hapless immigrant can be assaulted, get a personal protective order, be unfamiliar with the legal system and get deported as a result. People can, and do, get in hot water for inadvertently violating their own PPO. Now we can deport them for it too, woo hoo!

SPC Kevin Ford - As far as the violation of the PPO, it requires nothing more than an explanation during application. I'm very familiar with what explanation comes with a PPO. I had a male employee who requested a PPO against his abusive spouse. (Yes, it happens) One or the other violated the PPO every other week. I could count on him not being available for work 2-3 days a month because his spouse gets mad and reports his violation. We need not waste public safety assets on people who cannot or will not get a clue. Ignorance of the law does not constitute a defense.
Democrats need to get over the nanny-state "utopia" fantasy. People who do not have to face the consequences of stupid conduct continue their stupid conduct.
Put me down in the "unsympathetic" column.
