LTC David Brown - It was a campaign usage from Trump's part. How do we know this? Because he turned around almost immediately and used the images for his campaign. We have direct evidence of his intent.

What the families may or may not have thought about how Trump would use such photos or if they invited him there is irrelevant. They cannot authorize someone to break the law. The best case scenario for them is Trump simply used them. The worst case is they were willing co-conspirators. I chose to believe the former unless I get evidence of the later.

I see we have entered stage two. The stages are predictable and you guy drag us through them every time Trump does something awful.

Stage 1: No one on your side says anything as we all bask in disbelief at the latest bit of awfulness
Stage 2: You start throwning excuses against the wall to see what sticks
Stage 3: The winning excuses become part of the Trump Mythology

We'll be in stage 3 within a couple of days.

LTC David Brown on TikTok Trump shared a video including footage from Arlington National Cemetery. While that may not be an ad, that sure seems like using that visit for a political purpose. Does that violate the law? It certainly violated the spirit of the law

SPC Kevin Ford - So the press uses am anonymous informant to slim Trump. Then when Trump defends himself he is accused of using the incident for political purposes. There are photos of Biden and Obama in Area 60. I have seen Zero criticism of them. If NPR were interested in news instead of gott cha this would not have become public.

LTC David Brown - It doesn't work that way. I think you know that. Biden and Obama having pictures taken of them by news media is fine, particularly when they were POTUS and exercising an official act of offIce. Trump went there with campaign staff, took video and released it as part of a campaign material. I think you know that but are not being honest, either with yourself or us.
