Let us hope! Solar and wind are a massive waste of money. Even worse, they must be built on large tracts of land that are only found far from population centers where acreage is cheap resulting in an even more vulnerable grid. How about investing in more factories to produce Small Nuclear Reactors (SMR) that can be shipped to communities all over the United States thereby decreasing the need for a grid. SMRs actually produce cheap and plentiful energy and located nearer to energy demand, will deliver the energy far more cheaply and reliably.
