He should have illegally entered America, he might have gotten a 5 star hotel

It's hard to feel sorry for someone who doesn't want the help offered. I empathize with the homeless in almost every way. However, I would be more inclined to let them be if their encampments didn't become landfills.

CPL Jason Northedge From the article: Spencer acknowledges he isn’t interested in transitional housing assistance—too many rules, a limit on dogs. “I like being outside,” he says—which makes VA’s mission all the more challenging.

He doesn't want help, so what will 'brotherhood' do?

LTC Trent Klug I get what your saying but we don't know what that brother of ours has been through or going through. We don't know if something is wrong with his mind. Living on the street doesn't make him less of a brother to me. It may to others. That's all I'm saying, brother.

CPL Jason Northedge I get we don't know what's going on with him. There may be mental issues keeping him from seeking assistance. I never said he wasn't beneath me helping or wasn't a brother. He clearly wants to live like he does. I can understand that too.
