A lot of changes over the years but lately more increase in postal fees than ever before throughout the history of the usps.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Yes, and there is a different rate for them than a letter. I send postcards to my students at the end of first and third quarter congratulating them for their hard work (those who work anyways!). I've met students who were in my class years before and they often mention the card and say they still have it!

The Postmaster General DeJoy believes in raising prices every 6 months. The board of governors decide yes or no and how much.

I can remember the same mailman for years when I was a kid, today it seems lucky if one lasts 6 months on a route.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen Mail delivery personnel switch routes often to get bigger routes. That affects their retirement pay. I was told by my mailman once that they get paid based on how many boxes they deliver to. (Rural delivery anyways, don't know about city delivery folks).

Cpl Vic Burk - City carriers get paid per hour rates where the routes are supposed to be 7 hours and 50 minuets so the carrier can clean up and leave in 8 hours. But city carriers are always shorthanded on purpose because it's cheaper to pay overtime than hire someone with benefits. That is why you might see different carriers everyday. The PMG has slowed delivery to fit his new system but to charge more for less.
