Divers Discover 2,000-Year-Old Hull of Shipwreck With Hundreds of Roman-Era Artifacts Off Greece

Amazing finding those items after 2,000 years and them still being intact, what a great connection with history ! Sometimes things in water do get preserved al although Fresh water and area near us in Millville, Massachusetts an old wooden canal barge that sunk in the 1800s was raised and mostly intact. This was a barge pulled up the Blackstone River Canal by Mule teams that travel a path on short to pull the barge by a rope. about 95% of the old locks on the canal are also mostly intact. This canal come up from Providence, RI and ends in Worcester, MA. A trip up the length of canal took 2 days and went through 45 locks., It was going to be connected with the Erie canal but the railroad made the canals obsolete and ended it's use. Much of the canal is the Blackstone Valley National Heritage park.

Love it. I had visions of finding things like that when diving around Turkey and Greece. Of course all I ever found was rusted beer cans :-))
