MAJ Hugh Blanchard
I nearly got in trouble as a young CPT on this issue. A self-entitled wife of a LTC tried to jump in front of a bunch of 1-509 Airborne Privates during lunch hour at the PX in Vicenza. Personnel in uniform had priority over lunch. I called her on it, and she pulled the old "I'm Mrs. Colonel So and So". I then got mad and said "Lady, you don't wear your husband's rank. Please let these soldiers get the priority they deserve." She got really mad and stomped out. Her husband called my boss, another LTC, and tried to get me in trouble. My boss had been assigned to Iran just prior to the hostage takeover at the U.S. Embassy and didn't get excited about much. He told the irate (and apparently whipped) LTC to grow up and grow a pair. Then he told me to keep my editorials in check, and that was that.

MAJ Hugh Blanchard I see that crap all the time..I didn't see their entitled, high
Maintenance asses, helping out with the troops or their families, contributing to the communicate instead of spending their husbands money like water. I have only met a very select few officers wives that would actually give back to the lower rank & file. One stands out in my memory the most, is a base commander's wife (In Germany) that would come out and actually become involved with the community on base with the families of the lower rank & file. She would arrange picnics, get togethers, Christmas Parties every year, Easter eggs hunts, Halloween parties, etc the list goes on. I forgot her name but I treasured every year we stayed in Germany for 6 years because of her influences to become involved with NCO's families.

She (Dr. Jill) is a frantic and mean little climber. At what point is there enough money? They've been peddling influence even worse than the Clintons and perhaps not as well as the Obamas. Why are several tens of millions not enough?

MAJ Hugh Blanchard I'm sure it was about money at first. Then she got drunk on the power she received from being a 'fashion icon', and everyone bowing to her supposed intellectual prowess. Those are heady drugs.
