As foreign artists put together designs that depict India during the British Raj, the comprehension of Independent India will shine brilliantly across the globe; from arrival of the British East India Company through to the independence of India, and beyond. The best education is through art.
India was a land filled with maharajas (kings) and nawabs (princes) prior to the arrival of the British East India Company or the British Raj. The British Raj bought out many of the princely states in India by offering the nawabs lucrative properties in England; hence, the beginning of the Indian exodus into western economies. Education in the West and knowledge of western culture allowed a few driven scholars to return to India and fight for freedom of oppression under the British Raj; hence, the gift of Mahatma Gandhi to India's Independence Movement. The princely states were integrated under a Central Government driven by the British East India Company under the direction of the British Crown. Rich states drowned into poverty and poor states dove into the pits under the British Raj. Ultimately, India won its independence from the British Crown in August 1947. The British exploited India throughout its rule in India; hence, the great famine, the severed limbs, the jewel heist, and Jallianwala Bagh massacre, etc, to name a few, were the British claims to fame in India. The British claim these are spoils of war, yet no war was ever declared; India was oppressed prior to its independence.
These are important to know, but also it is vital for foreign artists to depict the livery in use during the era of the British Raj in India.
I support this form of communication and education about every Country.
