F/A-18F Super Hornet Pilot Is First U.S. Female Aviator To Shoot Down An Enemy Aerial Threat

I fully understand the significance of the mssion, but the reality is that this pilot didn't do much more than the equivalent of a WWI pilot shooting down an observation balloon. The real accolades should go to those who vectored the aircraft to the point where it could obtain a lock-on and make the kill. Combating drones is the ultimate in teamwork and the one firing the shot, female or male, isn't necessarily the hero of the sortie.
