This is quite revealing and shocking. And maddening. There is no way we should have a mortality rate this high.

Sadly this is the case for decades despite having the most expensive medical institutions in the world.

There are problems related to how live births are defined and reported vs still births vs miscarriages etc and the definitions can skew statistics. The Us US keeps fairly rigid statistics, other countries not so much. Gang bangers and drug abuse have caused a drop in U.S. life expectancy. I am always Suspicious of these studies .
