Maybe some day they will figure out how to grow a portion of a person's brain that has had a TBI and replace it, who knows what they may come up with next.

That is probably already being looked at...I hope! Some smart kid out there is probably already "Nerding" out over the article and then deciding to make it their Life's work. I think that Elon Musk's neurolink, is a step in that direction, but using technology and not biology. I wish all our Warriors could be returned whole and healthy.

This is something that a psychiatrist I met while serving speculated about almost 30 years ago. He said that he believed while most toddlers brains "trimmed" extraneous brain cells, autistic brains did not.

I was the second oldest person in my State to be Formally Diagnosed with Autism. I am glad I found out, but also happy I didn't know when I was a kid. I was just different, and that was bad enough. For me, the big difference between you Neurotypical Types, and myself, is that I pay attention to different things. You go in a meeting and have an agenda, I go in a meeting and notice the green walls, look like Lilly pads, and ponds support frogs, which are amphibians, and how they differ from reptiles, and by then you think I am not paying attention. LOL

SGT Kevin Hughes - ...
I Agree, Kevin;
There ARE Times When Knowledge Is Detrimental, Rather Than Beneficial To The Individual.. That's The case With A Person I've Known For Awhile.....The Schools Told Her Parents "She Needs To Be Placed In Special Ed Classes".... And They Never Asked Questions Or Got a 2nd Opinion ~~ Didn't Do A Thing To Verify The (Mis)-Diagnosis. And She Believed What She Was told... Totally Fa-Cupped Her Entire Life ~~ She's Currently In Her Mid 60's, Never Married Nor Even Had A Serious Relationship.... And, Quite Honestly "Smarter Than All Hell"... HOW This Was Never Discovered, Amazes Me And Really Pizzes Me Off. I See NO Excuses ~ 100 % Error.....
OH ~~ She Was FIRST Placed In A Special Ed Math Class Because~~ READY?.. She Was Having An Unusually Difficult Time Converting Fractions To Decimals. WTF ~ Sumbitches!

Back when I was studying my Neuroscience Courses they had just started working on these "mini brains" in a broth. They are just clumps of brain matter. And I wondered if they were conscious. they have no input from the outside world, No sensory apparatus. So would they just learn to think, out of boredom? And could you then construct a three pound brain (what our brains weigh approx) that is nothing but grey matter - no need for the housekeeping stuff in the body, just pure mind.
And I am autistic...so I guess my brain did grow to fast, because it left me behind in some areas.

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - Yeah, I got tired of people telling me I had to have a Degree ...I couldn't get one because I either got an A...or an F, never in the middle. So like you, I fabricated a story... I was MENSA. But then they wanted to see a certificate...so I took the test. Yep. MENSA. But then I read a quote from Einstein that people who brag about their IQ's weren't in a good place. So I stopped listening to people telling me I needed some piece of paper to prove I was smart. I wasn't learning for them anyway...I was learning for me.
