The Jews fought Romans more than once. The Romans laid siege to many towns and destroyed them. Many jews were killed or unslaved and sent to Rome as slaves. Some became Gladiators and died.

Rome enslaved many populations, not just Jews. Slavery was a fact of life for ancient civilizations. If your side lost, odds were pretty good that you would become a slave.

Yes and serving in the military, Roman Legion,as a Conquered person could also make you a citizen.
