Play stupid games; win stupid prizes. I was there on J6 and it was a total setup. While walking from the Capitol over to the Ellipse, I passed Jacob Chansley, the QAnon Shaman. He was freaky looking and not what your typical Trump supporter looks like, but he had his megaphone with him and was saying stuff like, "Today we're going to let our voices be heard!" I went over to Chansley and gave him a friendly punch in the arm and at first, he seemed puzzled... like "Why did you just hit me?" I just looked at him and gave him a thumbs up and he flashed a big grin and kept on going. Chansley was harmless; he wasn't the face of MAGA or the leader of an insurrection, nor did Trump say anything that any person of reasonable mind would construe as calling for violence or the overthrow of our Democracy. Chansley was released shortly after Tucker Carlson released footage that the Democrats didn't want released that showed the police escorting Chansley around, acting as tour guides and even trying to open doors for him. Chansley thanked them and said a prayer for them. Does that sound to you like a violent insurrectionist / domestic terrorist? I was disappointed both with our government and with Chansley when the Feds broke Chansley and got him to say derogatory stuff about Trump.
Backing up a bit, and back to J6. My first impression walking past the Capitol is that security was exceptionally lax -- especially given that the FBI briefed there would be violence at the Capitol. Standard SOP for Security at the Capitol was not followed; it calls for a fence to be erected around the Capitol when demonstrations are anticipated. Instead of fencing, they had easily moved barriers with gaps in the police coverage. The police weren't deployed along the barricades and at the entrances as one would expect. There were plenty enough police present to stop any incursion, but most were randomly milling about as if waiting to be told what to do. The National Guard (which Pelosi didn't want there) was left standing in the Parking Lots.
We were there on J6 because we wanted to send Congress a message that we wanted them to hear evidence of election fraud before they voted to confirm and Electoral College vote, which was tainted with manipulated vote counts and mail-in ballot fraud. The overall mood at the beginning was very positive and upbeat. Everyone was happy and hopeful that Congress would hear evidence of election fraud and apply a Constitutional remedy. The remedy they expected was that Congress would throw out the EC vote and conduct the election in Congress (as specified in the Constitution) with every State getting one vote in the House and two votes in the Senate. Because the Democrats picked up both seats in the GA races just prior to J6, it now fell upon Pence to cast the deciding vote should there be a tie.
We anticipated that BLM and ANTIFA would probably show up dressed as Trump supporters and that they would damage property and try to get us blamed for it. Sure enough, they were some there. Your average Trump supporter doesn't show up to a MAGA rally carrying bear spray, backpack with change of clothes, gas mask, wearing tactical gear and heavy soled boots.... and they generally aren't covered in tattoos, with multiple piercings all over their bodies, yelling profanities. Just saying... These folks looked like they stepped out of CHAZ in Portland and put a Trump hat on. [They were about as convincing as Barack Obama claiming to be a Christian family man who loves America... so much that he wants to make it better by catering to the minority LGBT agenda and foisting it on everyone, as well as healthcare for everyone that was supposed to pay for itself through increased efficiencies. Those in the know see right through the smokescreen.] The crowd largely ignored them and when they saw they weren't having any impact they left, and presumably went over to the Capitol.
Trump started an hour late and ran long. I believe he did it on purpose to throw off those staging the violence. While Trump was speaking reports of violence hit the airwaves and Trump mentioned it to the crowd. We heard that shots were fired and that a Trump supporter had been shot by the police. People in the crowd began yelling, "That's not us!" "We're peaceful!" "It's a false flag!" They were dumbfounded because the Ellipse is 1.8 miles from the Capitol and all the Trump supporters were there (or so they thought).
Looking back, the FBI had at least 200 agents embedded in the crowd dressed as Trump supporters and there were other actors not affiliated with the FBI who were there to cause mayhem for their own reasons. As noted, we fully anticipated BLM and ANTIFA being involved but at that point nobody thought the FBI was involved. We suspected some undercover cops would be in the crowd but just for public safety. And an examination of video evidence revealed the presence of law enforcement individuals dressed as Trump supporters but the FBI refuses to acknowledge who was there to Congressional investigators, opting instead to hide behind legal technicalities of ongoing investigations that they are not able to discuss... [BECAUSE IT IMPLICATES THEM!]
What I found strange was that the FBI briefed that there would be violence at the Capitol, but they never said anything about who they thought might be behind it, or what they were doing to interdict the violence... to anyone including Trump! Why not nip the problem in the bud BEFORE it happens if you can? They briefed it weeks in advance. I believe that caught Trump's attention and he didn't trust them. That's why he told people to be there on J6, why he spoke at the Ellipse instead of at the Capitol, and why he started late and ran long... I believe he thought that those behind the violence would expose themselves < because when it went down, Trump and all his supporters would all be over at the Ellipse and witness to the Democrats unmasking their insurrection! I don't think Trump thought his supporters would get sucked into participating but apparently, some did. <Sigh>
While we wanted to hear what Trump had to say, what we really wanted to hear was evidence of election fraud being presented to Congress by the GOP. It seemed to take them forever to get to it, and people in the crowd began getting restless. People were grumbling, "Why aren't they discussing it?" Finally, when the GOP got around to presenting evidence of election fraud to Congress, the Democrats, as if on cue, started yelling and creating such a ruckus that Congress was put into recess till 2000. That upset the crowd because this guaranteed they wouldn't be around when Congress voted to confirm the EC vote. They also weren't happy with Pence and blamed Pence for not wanting to stand up to cast the tie-breaking vote in choosing the President should it come to a vote along partisan lines.
Evidence of fraud is literally everywhere! Over 1,000 poll watchers, poll workers, and expert witnesses testified to anomalies that have no rational explanation other than election fraud, and the media downplayed that saying there was no evidence of fraud.
It only took a few out of the crowd of several hundred thousand to get the lamestream media to put out the Democrats' narrative that J6 was an effort by Trump and his supporters to overturn an election and destroy our Democracy. That's exactly what is going on when you steal elections, hijack the courts by seating social activist justices, and weaponize federal agencies to frame your political opponents.
And as per the script, when Congress reconvened, they were so aghast at this alleged attack on our Democracy by Trump and his supporters that they went straight to a vote without hearing evidence of fraud and even impeached Trump a second time hoping that it would end his political aspirations. Pence could have been a hero but instead chose to be a zero and he was accomplice to a stolen election.
If you can't see what's going on, you're not looking, complicit, or blind. Even Ray Charles could see it!
The FBI had infiltrated the militia groups and their operatives rose to positions of leadership. They refuse to discuss their involvement in J6 and the extent of their infiltration in the patriot groups. Nor will the FBI discuss their relationship with folks like Ray Epps, who they didn't arrest even though he was on video urging supporters to go inside the Capitol the night before. When Epps told supporters to go inside the Capitol, they booed him and called him out as a Fed. Epps denied being there on the 6th, but then he was found on video whispering instructions to a supporter who turned and attacked the police line immediately afterward. There were some not so bright militia folks [and that Marine that just got sentenced to 5 years for spraying the police] that got sucked into doing stupid things and they should have known better.
Trump overestimated his supporters' ability to exercise good judgment and not get caught up in the violence. Once it was confirmed that his supporters had taken the bait and were in the Capitol, it was pretty much game over. The Democrats' plan worked well -- almost. But it required that they suppress video evidence and bodycam video which showed police moving barricades and waving people into the Capitol, Trump supporters begging police to stop those who were damaging property while the police stood there doing nothing, and police acting as escorts for Jacob Chansley who became the poster boy for the MAGA movement < at least in the eyes of the lamestream media.
I TRUST that the public is smart enough to see what went on without letting their personal biases against a man cloud their judgment... but after reading some comments here on RP and seeing what some of you post, I'm not holding my breath. Our country is crumbling under the weight of its corruption and our military is succumbing to wokeness. Wake up America! The side that seeks to silence and cancel the opposition is the one you need to be questioning.

Thanks for your commentary, Jeff. Sadly, you're preaching to the choir. Nonetheless, it's important that your message is heard by as wide an audience as possible. God bless you for standing up and being counted. . . .

I totally supported the gathering on January 6th. Like Capt Jeff S. said, you could see it was a set up a mile away. Even had I been asked to go, I wouldn't have because of the set up.
I don't condone the actions of those who attacked the police or damaged the Capital and grounds. Just as I don't condone the actions of the police who attacked citizens. And I certainly think the police officer, Byrd, should be in prison for the killing of Babbitt.

I'm with you, Trent. The biggest crime surrounding J6 is that Michael Byrd came out of it with a clean slate and a promotion to LT in the Capitol Police when he should have been stripped of his badge and forced to stand trial for Murder One (since it's obvious his actions were premeditated). I still can't believe we have people here on RP that don't get it . . .
