I did some ESL tutoring of a few Arab high schoolers at a local high school in the late 70s. They were leaps and bounds ahead of American students in all areas. And they knew English better than some of their classmates. They were mostly in school, as new arrivals, to learn English. A few attended the sessions just to get out of boring classes full of students who weren't serious about learning or anything else in life. Much higher level of emotional maturity too.

EXACTLY: Other Countries EDUCATE Their Students ~~ We Just Pass Ours On From One Year To the Next Until They're Handed A High School Diploma, And Are COMPLETELY Qualified To Do Absolutely NOTHING ~~ And They DO It SO Very Well....

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - We can only hope our system of education has improved since those times. It seems to have, in many ways . . . even though U.S. is comparatively way behind. That was the problem the Arab kids had. They couldn't go to until they were old enough. These days at least serious students are allowed to take college courses while in high school.

Phenomenal soul, your niece. Her books were top of the list, then sad to say and see, an obituary while she was in the prime of life.

How's This Grab Ya?.... I Was Employed By The Clark County Schools For Well Over 13 Years & Offered A Teaching Position In A New Tech School... I Turned It Down FLAT ~ Didn't Even Need To Consider It....Because IF I Became A Teacher, I'd HAVE To Do It By The Districts Curriculum, NOT My Way Of Teaching The Skills Of Printing & Business Ownership ~ So What's The Sense?....I Could Teach The Students MORE In a Month, Than Doing It Their Way All Year Long.

I am afraid that HE cant help it.
