This is, at the very least, disturbing. It seems the military is more worried about covering this up than correcting the policies.

Unfortunately, it has long been that way. I've had to remove my kids from more than one center

More than disturbing. The average civilian has no concept of the role child care centers play in the defense of our nation. Can there be issues, of course, I can remember some back in the 70s when our kids used them, but Base Commanders quickly jumped in to rectify them. The fact that cover-up even enters the conversation may be more of an indication of poor base level leadership than just child care policies.
