Lt Col Charlie Brown This guy is an idiot. It is going to put small restaurant businesses out of business either by price increases or their employees leaving to go to larger ones that have to pay the new wages.

If he were to try and take more directly from the business owners with some new tax that caused them to cut back employees and hours , the results would splash back on him. By raising minimum wage more money comes in to the states coffers by way of income tax, and any firings and layoffs are then blamed on "Greedy" business owners.

The end result is still the same. More people signing up for Gov't benefits, and being beholden to the State for their livelihood.
