My opinion…
1. Trump’s lawyers brought this on themselves with late filing. They waited over three weeks and filed at last minute before deadline.
2. 8th amendment does not apply. This is a private lawsuit, not government. It’s not excessive since Trump previously claimed to be a billionaire and should already have the assets to pay.
