I was in the E4 Mafia in Basic/AIT.
I was one of four soldiers in my Company that went in as an E4. I was the oldest in my training Company to graduate. The other Jr. Enlisted said I made them look bad coming in 2nd place in the 2 mile run. Most ( except the Puerto Rican who ran an 11:45 2 mile ) did not like running or did not have experience in Track, Cross Country or 10k runs. I ran a slower 12 minute time in the 2 mile run.

I was in the CAARNG as a E4. I saw an E5 who drank alcohol at lunch on IDT weekends. Most enlisted were ok.
