When you absolutely, positively need to clear a grid square, you call in the Big Guns!
The battle group photo from 1987 is with the USS Missouri in the lead. I was on the carrier, USS Ranger at this time.

Crossed the Panama Canal on the Iowa twice. Also attended a ceremony on the Iowa, off the coast of Guatemala, where they fired the 16” guns as part of the ceremony. Love the Big Stick!
