This Day in History: Apollo 14 returns from the moon

I remember seeing Shepard and his golf club on the moon and thinking how cool it was as he took those swings.

But my favorite thing was his quote about his first flight and his rocket. All he could think of before launch was he was sitting on an object that every inch of it was built by the lowest bidder!

I closely followed every flight of the early space program. I had a thivk scrapbook of news articles. It was at my mother's home when she died. My aunt tossed that, along with many other thing and told me 'It was all trash'. I was working 112 hours a week at that time.
