He got out scott free and claimed innocence even though the staff member had documented nearly two years of harassment, including text messages, recorded phone calls and multiple memorandums for record during particularly troubling incidents. I hope she sues and wins a fat settlement from him.

Let me first say that he is absolutely, positively, 100% innocent until proven guilty. So I won't say this guy deserves jail time or even to lose his pension. But I *do* think that the DoD should be pushing to try to prove his guilt. And definitely putting security clearance eligibility on hold, if not revoking it. (Yes, he is retired, but he can still use that eligibility to gain clearance as or with a contractor in the civilian sector.)
Second, I fully acknowledge the POSSIBILITY of bias in this story, whether intentional or unintentional. I also acknowledge that it is one side of the story. I am fairly positive that, if asked, he would claim the story is radically distorted, if not outright false. Since it is based on the DoD IG's report (which, yes, he disputes), I think that probability is low. But it is still a possibility.
With those VERY important caveats, I gotta say that this guy sounds like a complete and total POS. And he did not become a POS overnight, so I have to wonder how he managed to make it to where he did. Clearly, there is a lot more failure here beyond just this guy. The system that let that guy get that high of a position failed, too.
