Great story but my experience with wild turkeys says they don't need help. In college I'd often help my college roommate feed cattle on their dairy farm. Out in the fields in the early morning there would be all sorts of turkeys that weren't at all bothered by our presence. Come back an hour later with guns, or bring along a gun when doing the feeding, and there wasn't a turkey to be seen.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen I Remember the Wild Turkeys on the Cerner Campus in North Kansas City were Arrogant Obnoxious Critters. They Owned the Parking Lot.
