John Oliver catches Mike Johnson in another lie about his background

With the ongoing saga of former Rep. George Santos (R-NY), Israel's War and the off-year elections, John Oliver hasn't had much time to focus on the new House Speaker: Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA).

Oliver continued the hilarity about Johnson and his son sharing their internet activity to hold each other accountable if they're searching "adult-related" content. Oliver noted that the sad thing for Johnson's son, Jack Johnson, is that he gets a window into his future by seeing his father's search history like "shampoo for thinning hair" and "knee clicking cancer?"

Oliver played clips of Steve Bannon, who touted Johnson as "one of the intellectual architects" in the attempt to overthrow the 2020 election. So, for a Republican Party desperate to move on from 2020 and Jan. 6, putting Johnson in charge brings it quickly to the forefront.

Reporters began asking about his 2020 involvement on day one, leading members to boo and yell at them to "shut up!" But the questions aren't stopping, and there's now a concern whether Mike Johnson will try to use his power to stop the 2024 election. Donald Trump has already indicated that if he loses it means the election is "rigged."

But it was the last point where Oliver discovered the caught Johnson.

This week, CNN reported on a foreword that Johnson wrote for a right-wing manifesto. The content of the book outlines how to use "Black Lives Matter" to start a race war by "pandering" and spins the Pizzagate conspiracy as legitimate. Johnson hasn't clarified if he believes the hoax. It also trashes poor voters as "unsophisticated and susceptible to government dependency."
