Glad to see that interest. IMO, the introduction of white, processed flour has done so much damage to the indigenous population. and that is just one of the problems.
BTW, corn, beans, and squash are known as the three sisters, especially here in the southwest. They are often grown together so they can be watered at the same time. The beans grow up the corn stalk while the squash lies around the plants, helping to hold in the water.
