I remember the dreaded peg board. But, funny thing. Once I developed my Lats, traps, and bis a bit - and got the form down - peg board actually became pretty easy.
All of those exercises did. Peg board, rope climb, pull-ups, push-ups, vertical ladder (monkey bars), even a couple exercises we had to do on the still rings, uneven bars, and pommel horse. Impossibly difficult at first, routine once the proper muscles were developed and the form was understood.
