2023 SoldierStrong Scholarship Winners

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Navy veterans Kathleen Higgins and Michelle Humphreys of Old Dominion University who are the 2023 recipients of the national nonprofit SoldierStrong's SoldierScholar scholarship program. The scholarship, funded by a SoldierStrong endowment to the Batten College of Engineering and Technology, supports female veterans interested in STEM degrees. I thank Kathleen and Michelle for their service and am inspired by their commitment to continue their education in order to put their skills learned in the military to use in the civilian workforce.
