Interesting hearing about stuff like that outside of Connecticut. Connecticut was known for a long while as one of the top provisioners since colonial times and by the early 20th century the arsenal of democracy with numerous firearm manufacturers happily tapping into the iron deposits in the area.

We used to take the Army Crew team there, turn around, and go back down to Bear Mountain Bridge before turning around and going back to the academy. A most interesting place. Definitely worth a visit . . .
