In the first impeachment inquiry for President Biden, Republicans zeroed in on his son, Hunter, and attempted to make the case that the president benefitted from his son's business dealings.
What resulted was a more than six-hour-long hearing that was at times both chaotic and antagonistic. At the same time, House Republicans struggled to prove their case against the president or his family.
House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer said the panel had "uncovered a mountain of evidence" and claimed Biden used his official government role for his family's gain. But Comer and his Republican colleagues didn't provide clear evidence backing up this massive allegation of wrongdoing.

Of course Democrats and their friends in the media are mislabeling the hearing. All three witnesses said their is enough evidence to conduct an inquiry which was the point of the hearing. There is circumstantial evidence of selling of influence such as a Chinese business partner of Hunter’s named Li, sent $250,000 to Hunter with the address of Joe’s house on the wire transaction. Just so happens Joe had lunch with Li and wrote recommendations for Li’s son and daughter to get into US colleges. Coincidence? Joe just happened to call Hunter 20 times during business meetings. Coincidence? Deven Archer said the Biden family was the brand. Ask if that included Jill, Archer said no. Asked if it was the illusion of access, Archer said it was more nuanced, there were touch stones. Were touch stones events like, lunch with Hunter’s business clients or future clients? A phone call in to a business meeting? A round of golf with future clients like Carlos slim? The politics of this are such that the Rs are going to do this. If they actually find that Joe Biden did something wrong, the he should be in trouble. However, if this turns out to be the dud it appears to be and this is all they do for the next year…
