Research on the therapeutic use of psychedelics is underway at several universities, and data continues to accumulate on how they may help with conditions from PTSD to depression. Many states and localities across the country are considering legislation. Some, like Oregon and Colorado, have already passed regulatory models, which involve licensing facilitators to administer these drugs. And there's increasing interest in that work from a group of professionals who already guide people through life's deep and difficult times: chaplains.

Here in canada, gateway drugs like marijuana have sometimes cause people to flip out. Look how this guy didn't even spend 4 years in jail for murdering his mother and stabbing her to death. He had marijuana induced psychosis.
The drugs of today are a lot stronger. So even if it's a safe supply, it's a stronger Supply than what was available 40 years ago and some people flip out.
Smoking marijuana has destroyed the lives of two of my stepdaughters who never graduated from school and who are on public assistance. Smoking marijuana before the age of 25 can cause the rewiring of your brain. Smoking it as a 40-year-old veteran with PTSD would probably be okay but recommending it for teenagers is sheer stupidity!

An Edmonton man who stabbed his mother to death in a cannabis-induced psychosis was sentenced to three years and nine months in jail.
