The only people I'm seeing say "come to Maui" are government officials or business, like large scale business, owners. On social media, I'm seeing a lot of native Hawaiians and locals saying stay away. Right away they said stay away because there were limited resources. FEMA and Red Cross weren't helping them. Officials were stopping people from going in to help those who still had homes who refused to leave. Realtors are trying to get people to sell their land.

Also I've heard for years native Hawaiians saying stop coming to Hawaii because tourism actually has destroyed those islands. Tourism, colonization, the military industrial complex...it's destroyed too much for those people, their heritage, culture, homes and land.
