It was for the best. As I figure, Nixon abetted in the cover up. I don't think there was definitive proof he ordered the break-in and Idont believe he did. The whole affair revealed Nixon to be a paranoid individual.

Smart decision --- It forced the country to move on instead of dwell on it

'Perzactly/. Don't expect the same courtesy for Trump should he get convicted of anything.

Thank you my conservative friend and brother-in-Christ MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. for posting the perspective from taraross.com forcused on September 8, 1974 POTUS Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon.
I had already decided to enlist in the US Ar,y at that point.
Having the last name Ford in November 1974 as a young trainee with a drill sergeant whose last name was Ford let me know I was an embarrassment to him and POTUS Gerald Ford.
On August 9, 1974, "President Richard Nixon announces his resignation from office. He’d been facing impeachment and possible criminal charges related to the Watergate scandal. His successor, President Gerald Ford, would soon grant the former President a “full, free, and absolute pardon.”
