Lt Col Charlie Brown What is funny but also sad is that so many of my students think that Ben Franklin was one of our early presidents (no bull there folks). We just got hit with another rate hike to sixty-six cents to mail a letter. If they cut Saturday delivery the post office could save a ton of money. Now days in my opinion, it isn't needed. Just keep the post office open half day for those who can't get there during normal hours during the week.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Sunday delivery is ridiculous. There is no way that would break even.

Current mail carrier here. Sunday is supposed to be Amazon Delivery only. If mail is being delivered on on Sunday's that is a violation of the current contract and a grievance should be filed.
The Amazon contract is horrible. USPS should never had entered into this.
If Saturday delivery was cut, that would mean that Monday would have three days of mail to deliver. That really is a big deal to the carriers.
I've told lots of people we make a hard job look easy.

Cpl Vic Burk - Sunday delivery is only for the 'high priced' items (priority express, Amazon deliveries, etc.) and the volume is significantly less than daily mail deliveries (M-S), so they are making a profit on Sunday deliveries.

COL Randall C. - I hope they are making a profit on it. Those trucks and employees don't run/work for free!

Ben Franklin has always been a favorite Historical figure for me. He was quite the innovator (which is why he was able to make so many improvements to the Postal system) as well as inventor, statesman, and Ladies Man.
