I met Buck Compton while at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in 2009. That broke my ankle and they had a book signing there.
So I met one of the Band of Brothers and he did play baseball and football.

So many ballplayers fought in WW2 without complaint. Yogi, Hank, Ted, Bob, Joe and alot more. My favorite read from then is Ralph Houk. The man was a stud on the battlefield.
