I remember over 20 years ago sitting in a military club on reserve training watching soldiers partying and thinking the military should not be the subculture it is becoming.

Civilians are so far removed from what the military does and it’s so far away, they lack understanding and interest. Unlike the World War II generation who knew what they were fighting for, it’s become murkier even for those involved in the mission MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D.

Unfortunately true. I applied for several lower and mid level manager positions with the state of Oregon. I was told my military supervisory experience didn't qualify me for those positions. I later found out two of the people who were hired as managers were recent college grads. Yeah, the had leadership experience all right.

Maj Kim Patterson Unfortunately no. The compensation packages aren't structured that way.
