I knew a vet who was in the 23d Inf. Regt. at Chipyong-ni. When his company pulled out, he and his foxhole buddy were left behind and spent the next 2-plus years as POWs.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. - My unit in Korea did a staff ride to Chipyong-Ni. With the help of the 8th Army Historian, we found a pocket knife dropped in a foxhole by one of the 23rd Inf. They sent us pictures of him getting his knife back, it was quite something.
