In search of Saeed: From Guantanamo to an Algerian prison
MY SAY: Unlawful combatant Islamists who want to kill us could not be better treated or safer than they were at #Gitmo. Also, not entitled to Geneva protections that were granted in spirit anyway due to the benevolence of the US gov't. Even lawful combatant POWs can be legally held without charge or trial "until the end of hostilities." The Global War on Terror is alive and well and living in Somalia, Syria, Africa, Afghanistan, Iraq, et al. Al Qaeada, al Shabaab, ISIS, the Taliban, and others are operating full-tilt, 24/7/365. Why are we releasing known bad guys?
