Some good news on the weather front. Fewer hurricanes predicted for this year in the Atlantic Ocean.
Below-average hurricane season predicted for first time since 2014.
The predicted change is driven by the shift from La Niña to El Niño climate patterns over the Pacific Ocean. The latter weather phenomenon acts to weaken trade winds and destabilizes conditions needed for strong hurricane formation in the Atlantic Ocean.
