PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Tennessee had a grocery sales tax all though less than non-grocery tax. Grocery tax is 7% while other is 9.75%. They did have a month long period where there was no tax on groceries, not permanent. Those on food stamps pay no tax on groceries here. I don't know about other states.
