This is a tricky one, one quote from study; “While fully replacing humans with AI for empathic care has previously drawn scepticism [sic] from psychotherapists, our results suggest that it is feasible to empower untrained peer supporters with appropriate AI-assisted technologies in relatively lower-risk settings, such as peer-to-peer support,” the study states. I've seen some strange responses coming out of AI. We'll have to be careful with it.

So empathy will go the way of spelling and grammar? So many people cannot construct grammatically correct sentences because they have come to rely on a word processor to fix that and their spelling. They never really learned it because they didn’t have to. Seems a slippery slope to me. Technology has already made people pretty lazy.

Really? Authentic empathy or contrived unauthentic solicitous platitudes of empathy coached by A.I.? Not UW at it's finest, imo, where there are seemingly endless issues about "all kinds of ethical quandaries" that would not be issues or legal problems if common sense was applied and shortcuts avoided.
