I can't imagine any of the big cities or counties able to cope with the volume of votes

Computers and machines can be hacked, easily. Sure there was always cheating going on when it was paper ballots. But now with early voting, mail-in ballots, and other election measures from 2020, continuing into 2023 & beyond, it does bring up questions on why can't people vote in person like they used to. You always had an absentee ballot for military members & families stationed away from home. And if you were away on vacation, you could always cast an absentee ballot. But why have no-excuse mail-in ballots for every election from now on?
Even former Democratic President Jimmy Carter says how unsecure mail-in ballots really are for elections in foreign countries. Are mail-in ballots in the US somehow more secure?
We need to have election day as a Holiday, every two years. With all non-essential businesses & schools closed. This will allow all people who want to vote, be able to cast their ballots on election day like we used to.
Exceptions for military, hospitalized, or confined medical patients should be allowed. Also, if you have plane, train, or hotel reservations out of town on election day, you should also be able to vote absentee upon written request.
