I have a V6 Dodge Challenger that I only drive in the summer. I have a Dodge Caravan winter beater that I use. This vehicle is now 7 years old and I only have about 55,000 miles on it. The leather interior is still an excellent condition. I have only gone through three batteries and one set of tires.

I heard the cheapest model of the Ford F-150 is going to go up a few thousand dollars to $58,000. Sure, it has aluminum body and it won't rust but cars are going up in price thanks to all kinds of reasons including a chip shortage and inflation. The electric components of batteries come from outside the USA. Cobalt Mining and other kinds of minerals required for electric car batteries are done by child labor and people are getting poisoned trying to fulfill demand. The Church of the green New Deal doesn't care about this!

LTC Trent Klug right now I have a V6 Dodge Caravan with the similar V6 and the Dodge Challenger but it's got a smaller fuel injection so it only has 287 horsepower instead of 305. I know that I had a 1995 Dodge Caravan and the transmission failed at 70,000 miles. The Dodge Caravan I have now is a 2015 and it has over 105,000 miles on it. It still runs fine. I had a Dodge Durango with the 4.7 L V8 that we sold to my brother-in-law and it had a 120,000 Mi on the engine and transmission and it ran fine and didn't burn any oil. The paint was starting to pit with little bits of rust on the tailgate probably because of the road salt up here in canada. Canadian Vehicles tend to start rusting at the 10 or 12-year Mark due to salt on the roads. That is why I keep the Dodge Challenger parked in the driveway during the winter time. I'm glad to see your transmission is holding up fine. It goes to show that regular maintenance and good design mean long-lasting Drive trains. Yes, electric cars can't do what I did. My wife and I drove from Edmonton, Alberta Canada all the way to just an hour north of Seattle. I believe we filled up in three tankfuls and we got there in 2 days. Just think how hard it would be to find a hotel with an electric charger? If you had a hybrid vehicle, no issues, but when you have an electric car, the only electric car charging station I saw was at a hotel casino just north of marysville, Washington where my unit was at. Angel of the Winds Casino had Tesla chargers only.

I would do 20 days or 15 days active duty and believe it or not, the Navy Lodge hotel was closed down so we were able to choose hotels within the budget and I chose hotels either in Arlington or in Marysville Within 10 minutes of my Army reserve unit. When I went my last 15 days of training in november, I actually had 3 days off one weekend because one Friday was considered I forget a scheduled holiday off and the active component. I forget what it's called. We went to the angels of the Wind Casino and we were on per diem so it was great to eat at a place like this and that's where I noticed the Tesla car chargers.

LTC Trent Klug yes, I was surprised that a restaurant chain that is in Marysville is inside that exact casino.

My wife and I had to keep it to one Mexican restaurant a day because we were gaining weight while we were in marysville. The La Playa Bonita Restaurant had a restaurant inside the casino.

I took this picture of my white Dodge Challenger rental car that I had when I was on temporary active duty at Fort Sam houston. It was over 100° that day and I was driving over 70 mph much of the way to see the USS Texas. It was so hot that day that my smartphone shut down for being too hot but I had a digital camera with me and it it did not ruin my trip to the battleship.

I paid about $8 a day over the Government rate to get this vehicle. I would have had some Kia Sportage so I upgraded.

The Battleship Texas is in Dry Dock getting some maintenance being done. This ship was designed to last 20 years and it's over 100 years old. Salt water and steel did not mix!

I kept these cars (2016 Dodge Challenger R/T Rallye and a numbers matching 1972 340 Six Pac Rallye) along with a new RAM Rebel and an assortment of 70’s Dodge trucks. I keep them on my storage lifts in my shop and drive them every couple of months or so. I do this to remind people that these cars will out last ANY battery operated car. Naturally aspersion cars run cleaner now because of the “clean” petroleum products America offers. They will out last ANY battery operated vehicle because it does not cost me an arm/leg to maintain them, replace batteries, or constantly worry about it going rogue on the road and blowing up.
I have addressed this issue many times over the years when individuals say, “that old car should bring you good money when they hit the junk yard. I’m sick and tired of individuals who can only think one way, “well Biden says.” I see fire with their uneducated opinions.
Just say’n.

I forsee 60 month loans or shorter on E-vehicles. Some Canadians are hard core. I live in Canada.
