Back in the early 80's, I was stationed at Stewart when it was the 24th ID. I was in the 2nd Bde, C co 2/19 Inf. and when they disbanded we went over to 2/34 Inf. to become their Delta company. At the time there was just as many, if not more, weapons in the barracks as there was in the armsroom, yet we were smart enough and adult enough to not use them if we got in a beef with someone. At the time you could go off post to Western auto and get almost anything you wanted, all you had to do was show your ID card and drivers license. If you didn't see anything you liked you could go to one of the pawn shops and look there.
