Pandemic related supply shortages are an actual thing. It would be nice to believe that the military is immune, however I'll bet the fabric for those uniforms isn't produced in the US, so no fabric, no uniforms. Totally unrelated but we're remodeling our bathroom with custom cabinets. Have all the cabinets, but the door on a tower isn't installed because the hinges are backordered due to the pandemic.

The Marines do not need uniforms. They want to drop amphibious operations for small unit actions. Seems like a waste of a military branch of 170,000.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen Agreed - The point is the military is not immune and should have a high priority for anything that's considered military readiness.

Pete Buttigieg (DOT) whose primary responsibility is to deliver the world's leading transportation system for the American people and economy took 2 months (1st four weeks were largely off-line as reported by the Washington Post) off for paternity leave giving us a look at his importance of a supply chain issue in the United States. What has he accomplished for "we the people" to date? Certainly, some product is hard to get - Why?

Buttigieg is known to be outspoken about the environmental and sociological degradation that certain highway systems have brought to communities of color. Technocrats have great sway with him. He has discretionary latitude for his share of $126 billion dollars. He has made it known his priorities and the supply chain isn't high on his list.

MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi They've been playing the CR game with the military budget for as long as I can remember. All administration's, all parties. My assignment to HQUSCENTCOM in 1985 was almost delayed for exactly what Austin is saying about PCS's.
