Bill would block academy grads from playing pro sports right away

It's only right the Service Academy grads do their obligated service after graduation. If they dint want the service obligation, then they should have gone to a college or university.

There's no question that academy graduates should fulfill their service obligation. However, barring them from an opportunity to become a professional athlete while in prime physical and technical condition and making them perform their ADSO (active duty service obligation) does the player a disservice. I think an effective solution is to allow academy graduates to serve in the Reserve component, albeit for a longer service obligation of 4 to 6 years. Remember, these academies don't produce a ton of professional athletes so what harm is it to allow them a tremendous opportunity?
